The Carcavelos campus is strategically located between the cities of Cascais and Lisbon, making it an ideal destination for students and visitors. This prime location not only allows for easy travel to both urban centers but also provides quick access to the beautiful Carcavelos beach.

CARCAVELOS
Located in the Cascais municipality, Carcavelos, is known for its large beach, which is one of the largest along the Lisbon coast. Renowned for its excellent surfing conditions, lively promenade, and bustling atmosphere, Carcavelos also hosts cultural events and local markets, making it a favorite spot for both locals and visitors. At the eastern end of the beach, the historic Forte de São Julião da Barra stands as a testimony to the area’s rich maritime heritage.
CASCAIS
Cascais itself is a picturesque coastal town celebrated for its historic charm, stunning marina, and elegant architecture. Once a royal retreat, it has now transformed into a buoyant tourist destination, featuring cultural landmarks such as the Cascais Citadel and the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum. The town’s vibrant streets are filled with shops, restaurants, and cafés, while its beaches and scenic promenades provide breathtaking views of the ocean.



LISBON
With a rich history shaped by explorers, artists, and diverse cultures, Lisbon offers a cosmopolitan blend of the old and the new. The city’s iconic yellow trams, cobblestone streets, and stunning viewpoints provide a unique glimpse into its past, while modern architecture, innovative cuisine, and a thriving arts scene reflect its dynamic present.
From the historic neighborhood of Alfama, known for its narrow alleys and Fado music, to the monumental Belém district, home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower, each of Lisbon’s neighborhoods tells a different story. How to get to NOVA SBE from Lisbon airport

1. Metro: Take the Red Line metro from the airport. Change at Alameda Station to the Green Line towards Cais do Sodré. Duration: 30 minutes. Cost: €1,85
2. Train: At Cais do Sodré train station, take the train towards Cascais or Oeiras. Get off at Carcavelos or Oeiras station. Duration: 20 minutes. Cost: € 2,15

The Carcavelos Campus is located halfway between Lisbon and Cascais. The best way to reach the campus from Lisbon, Cascais or Estoril is by train:

- Bike Scooter
- Bird charges users 20 cents per minute and 1 euro for the unlocking fee.
- There is also bike and scooter parking available at school, at the hub located in front of the campus’s main entrance (Hovione Atrium).
- You can find these electric bikes and scooters at the train stations of Carcavelos and Oeiras in the morning, and on-campus after lunchtime.
- For technical support, users can use the ‘Help’ option on the app.
- Bus/shuttle
- Lines include shuttle M16 and others; M16 runs every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Additional shuttle service will be available during the WCERE conference.
How to get to Nova SBE from Oeiras Station
If you are coming from Lisbon, Oeiras is the train stop before Carcavelos. he station is located 1.3 km from the campus, making it a convenient option for:

VISA
Portugal is a member state of the European Union and part of the Schengen Area. Traveling to Portugal is easy, but the documentation required depends on your nationality.
For European citizens, a valid national identity card or passport is usually sufficient. If you are unsure, please check with your national foreign office which travel documents are required for travelling to Portugal.
For non-EU citizens, holders of a Schengen visa are permitted to enter Portugal. The Schengen visa facilitates travel between 29 member countries (25 EU member states and 4 non-EU countries), making cross-border travel simpler and less bureaucratic. A Schengen visa allows its holder to visit any (or all) of the member countries using a single visa, avoiding the need for multiple individual visas. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

c) your full professional address.
Please note that incomplete requests will not be considered.
