Notifications of grant application acceptance

WCEREA Member and Partner Associations and NOVA FORUM have secured participation grants to support individuals from economically disadvantaged countries and young scholars attending the Congress. These grants aim to alleviate financial barriers and facilitate the participation of deserving individuals in the Congress.

Only paper presenters are eligible for WCERE2026 participation grants.

The grant amount is used to cover the Congress registration fee prior to the Congress; the residual is remitted through bank transfer to the grantee after the end of the Congress. WCEREA Associations (Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics – AAERE; Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – AERE; African Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – AFAERE; European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – EAERE; Latin American Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – LAERE) will provide a complimentary membership to each grantee.

Grant allocation is conditional on visa obtainment and on confirmation of the travel and hotel booking to attend the Congress.

The grants will be assigned according to the distance between the city of departure and the Congress venue, up to a maximum of EUR 500,00 in Europe and EUR 1.000,00 outside Europe.

Priority Criteria

Participation grants will be assigned to the presenters of the best accepted papers according to the following priority criteria:

  • Priority 1: PhD students or researchers who completed their PhD in the previous 2 years.
  • Priority 2: Residents in low-income, lower-middle-income or upper-middle-income economies, in accordance with the definition provided by the World Bank, who have no other source of funding for the conference.

Moreover, a general criteria of gender equilibrium will be applied in the assignment process.
No age restriction is imposed.
